Newtown and District Male Voice Choir performed a varied selection of songs in Broad Street today in aid of Ty Hafan children’s hospice, which provides specialist palliative care for children living in Wales.

To celebrate the twinning celebrations between Les Herbiers and Newtown, the choir was asked to perform at the Newtown Twinning Association at Plas Dolerw last night.
A great time was had by all, and our French visitors really enjoyed the occasion.
The choir today performed at the wedding of Mr and Mrs Lane at Brywyn Hall in llanfyllin. The choir would like to wish the happy couple (and Proud Father and Choir member, Paul Lane) the very best for the future.
The Choir were honoured tonight to be asked to perform a selection of songs from their repetoire at the unveiling of the full length portrait of Sue Blower during the second Montgomery Town Crier Competition.
Over the two days, 14 Town Criers from throughout the UK and one from New Zealand, will participate in “cries” to find the best one.

The male voice choir held their AGM tonight. The chairperson thanked the choir members (and non choir members) for all their hard work throughout the year. Many issues where discussed and a new committee was elected for 2016/2017.

The male voice choir will be holding their AGM on Tuesday 21st June at 7.30pm. All choir members are asked to attend and give feedback over the previous year.
A new committee is also to be elected, details of the new committee members will be on the website when known.

The choir recently went on their annual summer tour, and this year they went to Carlisle in Cumbria. Whilst there, the choir performed at two concerts which were well attended.

The male voice choir held their annual concert tonight at the Baptist Church here in Newtown. With fantastic audience figures, it was a fantastic concert and the choir would like to give thanks to the soloists, Rhys Meirion and Annette Bryn Parry for their brilliant individual performances.
A special mention must also go to Christine, Gill and Sarah for all their hard work in ensuring that the concert was a great success.
